The Antichrist is spinning at 7200 RPM about now. IBM platform support of Solaris has been old news, but this weeks announcement does more than hint at Solaris running on Big Iron.
Imagine a platform with the uptime of mount everest, and a speedy OS that everyone can run, and maybe we can truly see applications that will work and not create work for rooms and buildings full of people just waiting for a server to fail. Instead of patching broken apps and servers, maybe they will actually have to write productive code instead of scripts that fix what is wrong.
